Darling calls for end to credit boom

Chancellor Alistair Darling has criticised banks for lending recklessly. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the Chancellor said that people should be very cautious when taking out a secured loan or racking up credit card debt . Mr Darling also argued that the banks have a duty to lend responsibly, carefully and rationally assessing each claim. Free financial advice He said: Primary responsibility has to rest with people.
